I've tenatively decided on a name for the cat that has multiple meanings and references, the best kind of name

Maladicta. It is the name of a female vampire in the Discworld series - very cool, very sharp-witted character - who is in the the book on tape, Monstrous Regiment, that we listened to on the way home after I found her. It comes from the Middle English word "maladicte," meaning to curse/accursed. It contains a nested legal reference (dicta - means the segment of a judicial opinion that isn't legally binding). It also refers to talking, or even being foul-mouthed, and she is a talky cat. I'm happy with it.

Baby cat has not yet mastered the concept of object permanence. When her ringy ball gets stuck, she walks away and starts to search all other places the ringy ball has previously been stuck. It seems that, once stuck, the essential ringy-ballness exists in potentia in every possible sticking place. It doesn't matter where the ringy ball was last seen, it could be in ANY sticking place at any given time.

Perhaps giving her two ringy balls was a mistake.
