A brief photo essay of grunion greeting, taken at La Jolla Shores on the night of April 4, 2007. Two lone fish, possibly scouts.
A group of grunion. The fish in the bottom right section of the shot is a female who has dug herself a hole in which to lay her eggs. They will later hatch on shore in the sand and will be washed out to sea in a few weeks.
